Unattended Backups

Backups are totally automated, requiring no human intervention. Each backup is tested automatically. Any problems are reported locally and sent to your smart phone via email. You will never be in the dark. All alerts and warning notices are configured to be received via email.

Each server or groups of servers can have their own backup schedules, in increments as low as every 5 minutes. Simply create the schedule, select how long you want to keep data locally and in the cloud, and start a backup. That’s it! After the first backup completes, the Quest‐Logix backup server will automatically create a virtual machine copy of each production server or desktop.

Image‐Based Backups
Quest‐Logix uses image‐based backup technology to take a complete picture of all servers and desktops. Advantages include quick full system restores, easy recovery of individual files or  documents, bare metal restores (BMR) capability, and the ability to boot individual restore points as virtual machines.

Backups and VMs Tested Automatically
Testing is taken to a new level with automated live virtualization verification. Quest‐Logix is able to not only check the integrity of a backup, but it actually does a mock recovery and spins up a virtual machine (VM) of the backup to verify the backup can be booted from the virtual machine in a disaster. Back up points are updated with the results as well as an image generated from the test.

Smart Chain Technology
Each time a backup occurs, data is saved in a universal virtual file format (VMDK). These backups are not dependent on previous snapshots, allowing for freedom over changing retention and deleting snapshots without resetting the chain or dropping a new base image. Since each backup is a fully bootable virtual machine, there is no need for a conversion to occur before performing a restore. With no complicated rollup or restore processes, data is always available immediately, both on‐site and off‐site, for near instantaneous recovery and virtualization.

Backup Intelligence
Quest‐Logix can identify file changes between any two backup points on the device. See what files are created, modified, or deleted on servers and workstations at any time. Restore machines that have been infected with a virus to the last version without the virus, or do a file restore on a lost or deleted file with almost no information on the file.

Hybrid Cloud Backup
Quest‐Logix utilizes Hybrid Cloud Technology to improve redundancy and allow users greater protection of their systems and data. Hybrid Cloud continuity is simple in concept yet robust in feature set; it leverages the advantages of local backups and the security of the cloud.
